we went to ikea tonight. i love ikea. i love ikea's meatballs. meatbally goodness.
i did not have meatbally goodness... and it SUCKED! but i didn't have them and i guess i feel proud of myself.
we bought two new lamps, one for the living room (because one broke) and one for the sun room (because we hated the lamp that was there and is now garage sale fodder). i love ikea.
food wise, today was a bit of a battle field. i didn't have the bebe so i didn't have to worry about his regular care and feeding so.. i picked at a bunch of things. i only have good snacks in the house, all broken down into individual servings... but i was never fully satisfied. not hungry but not fulfilled.
tomorrow is grocery shopping day and i think i'm going to buy stuff to make chef salads for dinner tomorrow and lunch on Saturday. No clue for Friday.. maybe chili made with soy crumbles. with the husband being allergic to EVERYTHING that lives, swims, or crawls in water AND chicken (yes. really. chicken!) it is hard to nom nom nom on the red meat and pork all the time.
we have babysitting on Saturday night (woo hoo!) and have made reservations for The East Side Restaurant ("tiki toki tiki toki hoy hoy hoy!"). i've been very strict this week so I won't have to be as careful at dinner on Saturday. Because.. really, how can one be too careful at a GERMAN Restaurant? (Don't answer that.. I want to live in ignorant bliss.)
it is fun to blog again. to have something, even if lame, to blog about. my livejournal will have to suffer some more because of this. alas. alack.
speaking of blogs, our friend Summer recently started a blog that kind of got our asses in gear. in a way, i guess. i think.... ANYway, it is called Nihilism and Cupcakes and it is a helpful, down-to-earth, wonderfully snarky blog that offers weight loss tips that she has culled over her years of losing and MAINTAINING a drop of well over 100 pounds. . . without surgery. check her out. if only for her creative art work.
